  1. Wow, you are just brimming with information today!

I'm glad you enjoyed the opera in Paris and managed to bring back all this news, too.

Three operas in Paris in one season. That's interesting. I'm also glad to hear Rolando singing Mozart and Anna's Elettra should be fantastic based on what I've heard her sing of the role. Anna as the bad guy, sort of. ;)

I'm also very curious to see who plays Otello. There aren't too many of those running around. You really need to have a good one for the opera to be successful.

    Thanks for all this news.

  2. Hi Rock! I have very much enjoyed the performance. Annd Anna was lovely at the stage door.

There is the May issue of a french magazine, called Opera Magazine, with Anna on the cover (that beautiful photo used for the Opera CD) and a really interesting interview. You have to have a copy! A lot of info on those new performances scheduled, amazing details about her talking with Giuseppe (Verdi, hahaha),... The interview was done just after her premiere of La Traviata in London the past January. There are also some nice photos.

  3. BTW It is not fully clear for me if all the three operas are scheduled for the 2009-2010 season. She said that Idomeneo would be in January 2010 and she talks about the other two without giving dates.

  4. She also says that if she would have knew in advance that Rolando would cancel the Roméo et Juliette at the MET, she would have sang Eugene Onegin instead! ;)

She also says that she could not sing Tatiana in Russia... Uhmmm...

At the stage door, she said that she loves the Opera Bastille opera house, because its very good accoustic.

  5. I love Anna and Rolando's DVD of L'Elisir...I really like them in those roles.

I'm glad Anna told you about all those performances...she talked to you for a while I suppose...I love the anecdote about the Romeo et Juliette at the MET ;)

Well, I hope to see her live some day too.

    Thanks for all this info!!

By the way, could you talk with Joyce too??

  6. Thanks for the rest of the information.

Anna might get over her issue of singing it in Russia once she's sung Tatiana a few times, hopefully.

About her story of substituting the Juliette with Tatiana, I think it's a mean tease. ;) LOL!

  7. Polter, Rock, as I said most of the info comes from that french magazine with that very interesting interview. She talks about the Eugene Onegin/Roméo et Juliette anecdote at the interview.

I was not able to talk to Joyce as at 01:00 when I left the stage door, she still was at the dinner. I neither saw Polenzani. Besides Anna, from the cast I only saw Petrenko leaving the house a while after Anna did it. Jeffrey left the house before Anna, not with her as he usually do.
