  1. Welcome to Spain! In April Erwin peforms in Sevilla, Spain. Nice place and nice time to spend a few days.

  2. Hmmm. I wonder if this is part of the album he was supposed to record in December? I didn't know the label he was signed with. Erwin mentions this in a podcast I'm subscribed to from LA Opera. It was when he was doing the Don Giovanni.

As a matter of fact, I know that he was supposed to do an album since the Don Giovanni in London.

Perhaps it's a completely different album. Maybe Anna's singing in only one or two tracks like she did with Juan Diego Florez. If it's a duets album the repertoire is limited. There's Mozart or maybe the duet from L'elisir. If they sing Russian opera there's a bunch of stuff there since tenors are rarely the romantic leads. Russian opera generally has baritones and basses as leads. Erwin needs to learn Russian! :)

  3. I did not know he was supposed to record a cd in December, but I also thought that the cd should be basically his cd, and Anna would participate in a few tracks, in the way she did it with JDF. The repertoire of the concert in Puerto Rico they did together could give us a clue about the tracks.

  4. Oh my God, has she sang in a JDF album? Which one?

  5. The album with JDF isn't out yet. It was recorded late last year, November maybe? Carlos has a post somewhere here on the blog about it. Here's an article that is similar to the one posted by Carlos about the CD with Erwin and also contains information about the CD with JDF. There's also a photo of Anna and Erwin.

  6. I can't find the interview that Erwin did where he mentions the CD being recorded in December but I agree the CD is his. Anna seems to have been there only for a day, and I'd think she's busy with La Boheme, so a track might be all she recorded.

I did find this interview that Erwin did while he was in London during the rehearsals for Don Giovanni and here he talks, towards the end, about the recording contract he has and that he's planning to record later in the year. The interview is in Spanish.

  7. Thanks for the info. Here it is the link to my post on JDF recording. Papagena, Plácido was also involved.

  8. Plácido is always making wonderful gifts to opera lovers!!
Thank you both for the info :-)

By the way, Carlos, I've noticed you changed he couple's picture, what a lovely one you got! Has it been taken in Valencia these days? They both look great! :-D

  9. Yes, the picture was taken in Valencia. It comes from the link that I got from Rock in the Pond and that I have included in the post.

  10. Great website, Carlos, I love Anna!!!
