It is well known that Anna Netrebko loves Richard Wagner musical dramas, but up to now she was not considering to sing any role of this repertoire. The only Wagner role that she did in the past, was a small role as a 2. Flower Maiden in Parsifal in St. Petersburg (May 1997), Istanbul (Jun 1998) and Salzburg (August 1998).But now, in an interview given this summer in Salzburg for Classic FM Magazine she said "I want to try Wagner's Lohengrin because it is beautiful and I want to sing it". She also added that "there is much more repertoire I will be able to sing". To hear Anna as Elsa, would be one of the most exciting experiences! Brava Anna!
