Interview to Netrebko at the Kurier

Today's edition of austrian newspaper Kurier publishes an interview to Anna Netrebko.

Next saturday, the russian opera diva makes the title role debut in Donizetti's "Anna Bolena" at the Wiener Staatsoper. The rest of the cast features Elina Garanca as Giovanna Seymour, Francesco Meli as Lord Percy, Ildebrando d'Arcangelo as Enrico VIII and Elisabeth Kulman as Smeton. The conductor is Evelino Pidó and the director is Eric Génovèse. The performances run from 2. April to 17. April 2011.

Netrebko confirms in the interview that next season she will sing the role of the Countess in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro", where Schrott will sin the role of the Count, and she will make the role debut as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" at the Wiener Staatsoper.

Among the new roles she is planning to sing in the future there are the title role of Puccini's "Manon Lescaut" and Leonora in Verdi's "Il Trovatore". Nevertheless, she points out that, most likely, before singing those roles at the Wiener Staatsoper, she would do it first at a small opera house.

Netrebko unveils that a CD and DVD may be released from the recordings of the performances of "Anna Bolena" at the Wiener Staatsoper. Ö1 radio and ORF2 TV (with a slight delay) will live broadcast the premiere on 2. April 2011.
