Anna Netrebko will sing Anna Bolena at the Teatro Real, Madrid, in 2012

Anna Netrebko has performed only once in Spain. It was on War and Peace at the Teatro Real of Madrid on 23. April and 2. May 2001 with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. In a recent interview published on ElPais.com, Anna Netrebko announces that she will be back in Madrid in 3 years time. Gérard Mortier, the new Artistic Director of the Teatro Real, has proposed her to sing Anna Bolena.
