Anna Netrebko at the Teatro alla Scala's 2011-2012 season

The Teatro alla Scala has just announced the new 2011-2012 season in a press conference and it's now available at the Scala's website.

ANNA NETREBKO AS DONNA ANNA IN MOZART'S "DON GIOVANNI"
As it was expected and previously announced the 2011-2012 season will open with a Robert Carsen's new production of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" featuring a top-deluxe cast featuring Peter Mattei in the title role, Anna Netrebko as Donna Anna, Elina Garanca as Donna Elvira and Bryn Terfel as Leporello.

Anna Netrebko will sing in the first six performances of the run. In those performances Elina Garanca shares the role of Donna Elvira with Barbara Frittoli, Peter Mattei shares the title role with Ildebrando D'Arcangelo and Bryn Terfel shares the role of Leporello with Ildebrando D'Arcangelo. The performances will be conducted by Daniel Barenboim.

The opening of the season will be transmitted live in HD to movie theaters, as part of the Opera in Cinema 2011-2012 season, by Emerging Pictures.

Anna Netrebko will return to the Teatro alla Scala in October 2012 to sing the role of Mimi in the classical Franco Zeffirelli's production of Puccini's "La Bohème" in two performances on 19. and 22. Oct 2012 featuring Piotr Beczala as Rodolfo.

    @MA El Villazón de ahora tiene poco que ver con el Villazón de hace 5 o 6 años, y la hipotética pareja escénica Netrebko/Villazón de ahora no tendría absolutamente nada que ver con la que hacían hace 5 o 6 años. Beczala o Calleja son cantantes de primerisima categoría.

Es seguro que a Anna la acompañan excelentes cantantes, admiro y aprecio las nuevas voces, de gente tan joven, no tienen nada que envidiar a quienes le precedieron, es como que la opera se llenó de talentos que es una fiesta para los ojos y el oído, pero Anna se nos metió en el corazón a través del duetto que tantos años conformó con Villazón y por momentos se lo extraña, siento lo que me dices de el, desgraciadamente sin querer lo hemos dejado de lado y solo queremos verla a ella.

  6. Que sin querer lo hemos dejado de lado??? Por distintos problemas de distinto tipo estuvo unos os años sin cantar prácticamente nada. Cuando en teoría vuelve se dedica a hacer programas show de televisión, a dirigir puestas en escena y, en sus ratos libres, a dar algún concierto de Haendel y música mexicana. Las críticas, excepto para su grupito de fans que les da lo mismo lo que haga, son terribles. Cuando va a cantar alguna ópera, es un desastre y cancela por problemas de voz. Y ahora parece que básicamente va a cantar Nemorinos. El periodo 2005-2007 con Anna estuvo fantástico, pero eso se terminó.
