Anna Netrebko in a Press Conference in Wien, 10. February 2008

Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo and Rolando Villazón appeared in a press conference this afternoon in Wien. Anna Netrebko, due to her recently announced pregnancy, will make a stage pause from the end of June 2008 until January 2009.

Therefore she would peform in "La Bohème" at the Mariinsky Theater on 29. February 2008, a concert with Elina Garanca in Abu Dhabi on 29. March 2008, "Manon" at the Wiener Staatsoper on 6.-15. April 2008, "I Capuleti e I Montecchi" at the Konzerthaus in Wien on 22.-28. April 2008, a concert in Moscow on 4. May 2008, "I Capuleti e I Montecchi" at the Opera Bastille in Paris on 24. May-15. June 2008 and, what would be probably her last on stage appearance before the birth of her first child, the concert with Plácido Domingo and Rolando Villazón, scheduled on 27. June at the Schloss Schönbrunn, Ehrenhof, Wien.

Her initially scheduled appearances in "Roméo et Juliette" at the Salzburger Festival in August 2008, "Lucia di Lammermoor" at the MET in October 2008, the concert with Rolando Villazón at the Passionstheater, Oberammergau on 19. July 2008, the Gala Lirica at Torre del Lago on 5. September 2008 and the concert tour with Dmitri Hvorostovsky to Paris, London and Wien in November 2008 would be cancelled. It is not clear right now if she would be able to sing some of the performances of "Manon" at the MET on 10. December 2008-15. January 2009.

Some photos of the press conference can be found at Opera Chic Blog, 13. February 2008

As expected, her "Roméo et Juliette" peformances at the Salzburger Festival in August 2008 and the concert with Rolando Villazón at the Passionstheater, Oberammergau on 19. July 2008 have been now officially cancelled on the schedule page of the official Anna Netrebko website.

Sorry, I was to hasty but when you copy/paste this link you come on the mainpage of Paris Opera then choose Reservé and you get a pop-up where you can scroll to Operas and than from the 13th on you can directly order your ticket from there. Opening times (I guess) will be from 8 or 9 in the morning, just look from time to time at the internet, or ask the question on the site at Contacts (it's also in English avaiable!)

  6. When I got access to the reservation screen at 09:00 everything was sold out for the performances of I Capulet e I Montecchi at Opera Bastille on 24. and 31. May. Only some tickets were available for the 28. may and the two matinees on 8. and 15. Jun. Finally I got a ticket for the 15. Jun. It is quite late and there is an obvious risk of cancellation, but hopefully Anna will sing and we will enjoy a great performance with a great cast.

  7. Well, I think I've been a bit hasty. I was hoping to get a ticket for either the 2nd or the 6th of June performances as I'm in Paris that week for a short break, so I was a bit put out when there were none on offer. So, following a mini tantrum, and a bowl of mixed cereal, I returned to the site and bought a ticket for the 15th of June matinee performance also (well, I hope I have, I haven't received an email to confirm that everything is hunky-dory). The slight problem being I'd forgotten I'm seeing Bruce Springsteen in Cardiff the night before (and before anyone thinks it, this isn't turning into an ebay "oops I'd forgotten" scenario where I then offer the ticket for £600), so I'm desperately racking my brains how to get to London in time for the Eurostar (I'm not a great fan of flying). Anyway, I hope everyone managed to get hold of a ticket, despite the ludicruous ticket allocation of Paris Opera - I thought the ROH were bad, but at least they have to offer 10% of their tickets to the general public and have day seats available. Anyway, moan over with...for now...until I hear my booking somehow failed...

  8. ROH is my my favorite opera house, from many point of view, including booking facilities and chances to get a ticket for the performance you want. I got my ticket for La Traviata for the date I wanted to go. So, they should keep at least some tickets available for the day booking starts. This has not been the case for Paris.

  11. 15. June has been the easiest date to get tickets. If it is sold out I think that there are standing tickets which are sold on the day of the performance, 1 hour and a half before the performance (obviously you should be on-line many hours before). I think there are also some tickets which are sold only on the place.

  15. I'm glad to see there are some there - one appeared briefly this afternoon but disappeared before I could post. There are tickets available on viennaticketoffice.com and mosaicodiffusion.com although I'm not sure how many (if any) tickets they actually have, it appears to be a reserve and cross your fingers in hope job. I have to admit to being a touch jealous of you Carlos with your La Traviata experience - I was tempted to queue up for day seats for that Saturday performance but assumed she wouldn't be singing...which encouraged me to queue this past Saturday for the Donmar Othello. I may even queue on the Thursday I'm in Paris. Dr Yiapud I hope you've managed to get yourself a ticket by now.

  16. Tickets still appear as available at the Opera National de Paris website for the 15. Jun, with ticket prices ranging from 80-150 EUR.
