I was very happy, when I have heared that Anna will give a recital at Salzburg, but what about an opera ? Will she not finally make any performances together with Rolando at Salzburg ?! The last time they were standing together on stage at Salzburg was in 2005 ! That's now 3years ago, so I think it's time for a new production !
Well, the recital has been just announced. I hope she will be also in some opera performance. On the other hand Erwin will probably be also there. I think that the same production of Roméo et Juliette shown this year, is scheduled for 2009. DG wanted to release a DVD and taking into account some rumours this year, maybe they wait for the next one with Anna and Rolando.
I'm curious to know if the recital with Barenboim is a piano recital. Those are extremely rare with her.
Somewhere, Jurgen Flimm said they were working with Anna for a new opera for 2010. Have not heard anything about an opera in 2009 from Salzburg. I don't know how her appearances at the Baden Baden festival would affect that.
